Bill Provisions
Requires developers of artificial intelligence (AI) systems or services that are made available for Californians to use to post certain documentation on their website.
Must post documentation regarding the data used to train the system or service.
Including high-level summaries of the datasets used; provided certain exceptions.
Would be required, on/before Jan. 1, 2026, before each time thereafter that AI system /service, is made available to residents; regardless if terms use include compensation.
For an AI system/service made available for use before Jan. 1, 2025, bill would instead require high-level summary to use information reasonably available to the developer.
Would require a developer who is unable to locate information for high-level summary to post a description of the methods used to search for information, as specified.
