CZC CB announced compliance with guidelines amending EBA/2021/02 under art 17 and18.4 AMLD on customer due diligence and AML/CT risk factors.
Factors credit and financial entities should consider when assessing AML/CFT risks of individual business relationships and occasional transactions (EBA/GL/2024/01).
The guidelines update and expand EBA/GL/2021/02 to include risk factors to be taken into account by crypto-asset service providers when establishing business relationships or carrying out transactions in crypto-assets.
In particular, they relate to measures for identification and control of the client and specific risk factors associated with crypto-assets (e.g. elements of anonymity).
Further, they also revise procedures for credit and financial institutions whose clients are service providers with crypto-assets from non-EU countries, not covered by MiCA.
Effectiveness
The guidelines will apply from Dec. 30, 2024, which is also the date to which CZC CB will proceed when performing supervision in accordance with them.
