RUS CB Digital Ruble Fees and Logo


On Aug. 3, RUS CB approved fees, logo for digital ruble transactions.


  • RUS CB board of directors approved set tariff for transactions with digital rubles.
  • Also approved the logo that will be integrated into banking mobile applications.
  • Follows Jul. 2023, RUS CB, RUS GVT said law adopted on digital ruble, see #178856.
  • National Currency
  • Third form of national currency, in addition to existing cash and non-cash rubles.
  • It will become another means of payments and money transfers.
  • Consumers and companies can choose which ruble form to use in various transactions.
  • Transactions
  • Payments and transfers of digital rubles for citizens will be free, providing maximum affordability of transactions with the national digital currency.
  • Fee for businesses accepting payments for goods and services in digital rubles will be 0.3% of payment amount, but no more than RUB1,500.
  • Fee for housing and utility companies will be 0.2%, but no more than RUB10.
  • Fee for business-to-business transfers will be equal to RUB15 per transaction.
  • Any person or company will be allowed to open one digital ruble account, i.e. digital wallet, on RUS CB platform without any fee.
  • Digital ruble transfers from bank accounts to digital wallets, and from digital wallets to bank accounts will also be without any fee.
  • Pilot
  • In August 2023, plans to start piloting digital ruble on real transactions in stages.
  • Pilot testing with a limited number of clients of 13 banks in stages in 2023 and 2024.
  • The adoption of the digital ruble will be gradual and is expected to start in 2025.
  • Effectiveness
  • Fees become effective on Jan. 1, 2025.
