CAL LEG reported approval of Bill AB-2011 regarding unlawful employment practices.
Specifically, re small employer family leave mediation program for reproductive loss.
Employment and Leave
Bill expands the small employer family leave mediation pilot program to include resolution of alleged violations of prescribed provisions on reproductive loss leave.
Statute of limitations is from the date of receipt of a request to participate in program until the mediation is complete or the mediation is deemed unsuccessful.
Bill will additionally toll the statute of limitations to an employee’s claim relating to an alleged violation of specified provisions on reproductive loss leave, as provided.
Bill would deem mediation to be complete if mediator determines that employer does not have between 5 and 19 employees, and would delete repeal date of pilot program.
Small employer family leave mediation pilot program is thereby extended indefinitely.
