The following counties are eligible: Barton, Ellsworth, Harvey, Hodgeman, Lincoln, Morris, Ottawa, Pawnee, Reno, Rush, Russell, Stafford, Wabaunsee and Wyandotte.
FEMA Assistance
Public assistance federal funding is available to the State, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis.
Federal funding is also available on cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures.
Aug. 21, 2024 SBA, HUD Disaster Aid
On Aug. 21, 2024, SBA made disaster aid available to certain private nonprofits.
Private nonprofits that provide essential services of a governmental nature are eligible.
SBA may lend private nonprofits up to $2mn to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.
To certain private nonprofit organizations of any size, SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) to help with meeting working capital needs caused by disaster.
Deadline to apply for property damage, Oct. 21, 2024; economic injury, May 20, 2025.
On the same day, HUD offered various kinds of disaster assistance to storm victims.
Providing a 90-day moratorium on foreclosures of mortgages insured by the FHA as well as foreclosures of mortgages to Native Americans guaranteed under Section 184.
HUD Section 203(h) program provides FHA insurance to disaster victims.
Section 203(k) loan program enables individuals to finance purchase or refinance of a house, along with its repair, through a single mortgage; also, finance rehabilitation.

Oct. 2024 SBA Rural Disaster Declaration
On Oct. 4, 2024, SBA made low-interest loans available to Kansas businesses and residents affected by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred May 19.
Makes SBA assistance available to rural and non-rural areas of Harvey County in KNS.
For small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits, SBA offers EIDLs to help meet working capital needs.
EIDLs are available regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.
Property damage deadline is Dec. 3, 2024; economic injury deadline is Jul. 7, 2025.
