Also eligible for federal assistance are the Florida counties of Liberty, Madison, Manatee, Monroe, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, Suwannee, Taylor, and Wakulla.
Public Assistance (Category B) emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance at 75% funding for the counties of Alachua, Bradford, Columbia.
As well as direct federal assistance available to the counties of Escambia, Hamilton, Holmes, Marion, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Sumter, Union, Walton, and Washington.

Sep. 29, 2024 FEMA Supplemental Aid
On Sep. 29, 2024, FEMA reported that federal disaster assistance was available to Florida to supplement Hurricane Helene recovery from Sep. 23, 2024, and continuing.
Available in Charlotte, Citrus, Dixie, Franklin, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Levy, Madison, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, Taylor, Wakulla.
Includes grants for temporary housing and home repairs, uninsured property losses.
Also available to State, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work in same counties.
Finally, funding available on cost-sharing basis hazard mitigation measures Statewide.
Oct. 2024 FEMA Increased Federal Cost Share
On Oct. 3, 2024, FEMA reported President Biden made additional disaster assistance available to FLA to supplement recovery efforts in areas affected by Hurricane Helene.
The federal cost-share to be increased from seventy-five to one hundred percent for the first ninety days of the incident period, beginning Sep. 23, 2024, and continuing.
Oct. 11, 2024 SBA Private Nonprofit Loans
On Oct. 11, 2024, SBA reported that certain Private Non-Profits (PNPs) in FLA that do not provide critical services of a governmental nature may be eligible for aid.
These entities, including school, museums, may be eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans for damages as a result of Hurricane Helene that occurred on Sep. 23.
PNP organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
PNP deadline for physical application is Dec. 4, 2024; for economic injury Jul. 7, 2025.
