On Jul. 18, CAL LEG enacted bill re ability to defer payment obligations
CAL LEG enacted AB-1854 to amend CAL LEG 4-3-800, re servicemember protections.
Provides for a period following a tour of active duty during which a reservist or the reservists designee may apply for relief from specified financial obligations.
Service Member Protections
Current law allows service member to defer certain payments while on active duty.
Bill amendments allow a deferral request while on active duty, to be submitted no later than 90 days after the period of active duty on which the deferral is based.
