On Sep. 30, JPN SCC said interest swap trading counting will change.
JPN SCC announced a plan to change the method of counting the number and amount of interest rate swap transactions in statistical information starting from Nov. 25, 2024.
Overview of Change
JPN SCC will modify the counting method for number and amount of debt burden, number and balance of remaining debt-bearing transactions to clearing contract basis.
Instead of the current one-way original transaction basis, for facilitating numerical comparison with similar information disclosed by overseas clearing institutions.
JPN SCC noted that there would be no retroactive changes to the past monthly statistical information files which were already published in the yearly archives.
Effectiveness
The change applies to daily data from Nov. 25, and monthly data from Nov. 29, 2024.
