On Nov. 1, HKEX replaced email submission with electronic platform.
HKEX announced its plan to replace the current email submission process by enabling the electronic communication platform (ECP), a secure and unified channel, to receive submissions of large open position report (LOPR) account information in Q1 2025.
Follows HKEX Apr. 2022 stated rollout of electronic communication program, #135186.
Enhanced Submission Process
The new submission and download functions will be the secure and unified communication channel between HKEX and LOP submitters for managing related tasks.
All outstanding LOPR account information will be tracked and a complete list of LOPR accounts requiring follow-up actions will be available for download in the ECP.
The list will be refreshed daily to facilitate LOPR submitters manage outstanding tasks.

Practice Session
An optional practice session has been arranged on Nov. 30, 2024; enrollment required.
After the completion of the practice session, LOPR submitters should confirm their completion by emailing the confirmation form to HKEX by Dec. 4, 2024.
Transition Arrangement
A transition arrangement will be introduced at the initial rollout period to accept LOPR account information submissions via both email and ECP; details to be announced.
Dec. 2024 Rollout
On Dec. 9, 2024, HKEX said submission of LOPR account information via ECP will start on Jan. 6, 2025; submitters should refer to guideline for detailed instructions.
A transition period will be in place from Jan. 6 to Jan. 31, 2025, during which submissions can be made via email or ECP, but not both simultaneously.
From Feb. 3, 2025 onwards, the LOPR account information form will be exclusively available on the ECP, and all submissions must be made through this platform.
