Bill Provisions
Requires hiring entity provide written contract to freelance worker, retain at least 4yrs.
Also required to pay freelance worker the compensation specified by such contract, or if not specified, no later than 30 days after completion of freelance worker’s services.
Prohibit a hiring party from discriminating or taking adverse action against a freelance worker for taking specified actions relating to the enforcement of bill provisions.
Authorized aggrieved freelance worker, public prosecutor bring civil action to enforce.
Provisions apply only to contracts entered into or renewed on or after Jan. 1, 2025.
