EU CNCL extended Mali restrictive measures for another year and amended list.
Follows EU CNCL Dec. 2021 set up autonomous sanctions framework, see #123955.
Overview
On basis of a review of measures referred to in art. 1a(1), art. 2a(1) and (2) of Dec (CFSP) 2017/1775, the restrictive measures should be renewed until Dec. 14, 2023.
Statements of reasons and identifying information for the 5 persons included in the list of natural persons and the list of natural or legal persons, entities or bodies subject to restrictive measures set out in annex II to Dec (CFSP) 2017/1775 should be amended.
Decision and regulation enter into force on day after publication in the official journal.
Dec. 2023 Renewed Restrictive Measures
On Dec. 11, 2023, EU CNCL renewed restrictive measures in view of the situation in Mali for a further year, until Dec. 14, 2024; one individual, entry 5, was also delisted.
Published in the EU official journal on Dec. 12, 2023: Dec (CFSP) 2023/2799 of Dec. 11, 2023 amending Dec (CFSP) 2017/1775 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Mali; and Reg 2023/2798 of Dec. 11, 2023 implementing Art. 12(2) of Reg 2017/1770 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Mali.
In Jan. 2024, EU CNCL removed Annex I entries from Mali sanctions list, see #197104.
