On Apr. 15, NOR GVT issued rules on design, furnishing of workplaces.
NOR GVT published Reg 616 (FOR-2024-04-10-616) on changes to Reg 1356/2011 on design and furnishing of workplaces and work premises, known as Workplace Regs.
Overview
Based on Act 62/2005 on working environment, working hours, job security etc. (Working Environment Act) §4-1, §4-4 para 5, Delegation Resolution 2280/2021.
Title was changed to Regulations on the design and furnishing of workplaces, workplaces and accommodation (Workplace Regulations).
Its purpose is to ensure safety, health and welfare of employees is safeguarded.
That by workplaces and work premises arranged and designed in relation to work being carried out, individual employee and specific risk conditions.
Also that accommodation that employer makes available to employee is properly constructed, furnished and maintained.
As for scope, it applies to all permanent and temporary workplaces, access roads and to new and existing workplaces.
Chapter 3A applies to accommodation employer makes available to the employee.
§2-10 and Chapter 9 do not apply to petroleum operations at sea and to operations on land facilities as mentioned in framework regulations §6 letter e.
§2-22, 2-23, Chapter 3A and §6-5 of do not apply to petroleum activities at sea.
For Svalbard, applies unless otherwise stated in Reg 33/1993 on Svalbard coal mines.
Effectiveness
The regulation enters into force on Jun. 1, 2024.
