WV LEG passed bill HB 4809 the Health care sharing ministries freedom to share act.
Bill Provisions
Adds new article to WV LEG 35, consisting of WV LEG 35-1B-1 - WV LEG 35-1B-6.
HB 4809 exempts a health care sharing ministry from the State's insurance laws.
Provides that membership in a health care sharing ministry satisfies the requirement to have healthcare insurance as required by a public institution of higher education.
Determines a healthcare sharing ministry is not a third-party payer for any purposes.
