SBA Montana Disaster Loans Available


On Oct. 4, SBA reported economic injury disaster loans over drought.


  • SBA announced availability of economic injury disaster loans (EIDL) for Montana small businesses in areas that experienced drought that occurred starting Aug. 1, 2023.
  • Eligibility
  • Primary Montana county of Missoula; neighboring MT counties: Flathead, Granite, Lake, Mineral, Powell, Ravalli, Sanders; neighboring IDA counties: Clearwater, Idaho.
  • Covers economic impact on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers suffering agricultural production losses caused by disaster and businesses directly impacted.
  • Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs of up to $2 million.
  • Loans intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred, regardless of lack of physical damage.
  • Application Deadline
  • Completed EIDL applications must be submitted to SBA by May 28, 2024.
