On Oct. 4, SBA federal disaster loans available to NM businesses.
SBA reported availability of economic injury disaster loans (EIDL) to New Mexico small businesses suffering economic losses due to drought beginning Sep. 19, 2023.
Eligible Counties
Loans available in primary New Mexico counties Hidalgo, Santa Fe, Torrance Valencia.
Also available in neighboring NM counties Bernalillo, Cibola, Grant, Guadalupe, Lincoln, Los Alamos, Luna, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval and Socorro.
Additionally, loans are available in neighboring AZ counties Cochise and Greenlee.
Disaster Assistance
Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs up to $2 million.
Loans are intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred, not based on physical damage.
Application Deadline
Completed EIDL loan applications must be submitted to SBA by May 28, 2024.
