SBA New Mexico Drought Relief Loans


On Oct. 4, SBA federal disaster loans available to NM businesses.


  • SBA reported availability of economic injury disaster loans (EIDL) to New Mexico small businesses suffering economic losses due to drought beginning Sep. 19, 2023.
  • Eligible Counties
  • Loans available in primary New Mexico counties Hidalgo, Santa Fe, Torrance Valencia.
  • Also available in neighboring NM counties Bernalillo, Cibola, Grant, Guadalupe, Lincoln, Los Alamos, Luna, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval and Socorro.
  • Additionally, loans are available in neighboring AZ counties Cochise and Greenlee.
  • Disaster Assistance
  • Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs up to $2 million.
  • Loans are intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred, not based on physical damage.
  • Application Deadline
  • Completed EIDL loan applications must be submitted to SBA by May 28, 2024.
