Ordered Federal assistance to supplement State, tribal, local recovery efforts in areas affected by storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, flooding Jun. 20 to Jul. 8, 2024.
Further, SBA reported disaster assistance available to Nebraska private nonprofits.
Disaster Declaration
Funds are available to State, tribal and eligible local governments, as well as certain private nonprofits on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work, repair or replacement.
Available in counties of Boyd, Clay, Dakota, Dawson, Douglas, Fillmore, Holt, Howard, Lincoln, McPherson, Nance, Nemaha, Saunders, Scotts Bluff, Thomas, and Washington.
Funding also available on cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
SBA Private Nonprofit Disaster Aid
The SBA reported that disaster assistance is available to eligible Nebraska private nonprofit organizations that provide essential services of a governmental nature.
SBA may lend private nonprofits up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.
SBA can also lend additional funds to help with the cost of improvements to protect, prevent or minimize possibility of disaster damage from occurring in the future.
Finally, SBA may also offer nonprofits, Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster such as payroll and other bills.
Deadline for physical damage loans is Nov. 25, 2024; for EIDLs Jun. 24, 2025.
