On Oct. 21, FCC issued filing window for cybersecurity label applicants
FCC reported a 15-business day filing window for applications from entities seeking to be designated as a Cybersecurity Labeling Administrator (CLA) and Lead Administrator.
Also adopted additional requirements for CLA and Lead Administrator applications as well as responsibilities that must be met by the selected Lead Administrator and CLAs.
Provided additional guidance to applicants and further implemented labeling program.
Provided 15-business day filing window for CLA and lead administrator applications.
Set determinations regarding application format, fees, selection criteria, sharing of expenses, Lead Administrator neutrality, and confidentiality and security requirements.
Any domestic, independent, non-governmental entity eligible to enter into a licensing agreement with the FCC may apply for the role of CLA and/or lead administrator.
Applicant cannot be owned or controlled by, or affiliated with, any entity that produces equipment on covered list or is prohibited from participating in IoT labeling program.
To include companies named on entity list and list of Chinese military companies.
Provided application process; all applicants must submit certification statements.
Next Steps
After filing window closes Oct. 1, 2024, FCC will review and evaluate filed applications.
Selection will be announced by public notice with next steps for selected entities.
