MLY COM launched the electronic beneficial ownership system (e-BOS) for submitting company beneficial ownership information, to help companies meet their obligations.
Background
The launch of this e-BOS is in line with companies' obligations to identify, acquire, record, update and submit beneficial ownership information with MLY COM.
This obligation has been outlined in the Guideline for the reporting framework for beneficial ownership of companies, which is effective Apr. 1, 2024, see #196184.
With the launch of e-BOS, the transition period introduced on Mar. 1, 2020 through the Guideline for the reporting framework for beneficial ownership of legal persons has been abolished, in line with the enforcement of the Companies (amendment) act 2024.
Effectiveness
The announcement is effective on/from Apr. 1, 2024.
Jun. 2024 Time Frame Extension
On Jun. 26, 2024, MLY COM extended the initial 3-month time frame for updating and lodging beneficial ownership information, for another 3 months ending Sep. 30, 2024.
Sep. 2024 Submission Period Expires
On Sep. 30, 2024, MLY COM said the above submission period ended on Sep. 30, 2024.
Starting on Oct. 1, 2024, the submission of beneficial ownership information through e-Bos will be subject to late submission fees and rectification fees, as applicable.
