HKIA issued letter to CEOs outlining the continuing professional development (CPD) requirements and CPD compliance reporting for the assessment period 2024/2025.

CPD Hours Information
Individual licensees can check required CPD hours for assessment period 2024/2025 and view reported compliance status by logging into IIC individual accounts.
Appointing principals can view the same information on individual licensees through the relevant Insurance intermediaries connect (IIC) supervisor or admin accounts.
Appointing principals may download CPD lists showing all appointed individual licensees and required hours; CPD lists updated daily by HKIA to track status.
Reporting Procedures
Individual licensees have two options for submitting CPD declarations to report compliance status; can submit directly via IIC individual accounts by Sep. 30, 2025.
Alternatively, can submit to appointing principals by the same date; before Jul. 31, 2025, individual licensees can submit via IIC only if they have fulfilled CPD hours.
Between Aug. 1 and Sep. 30, 2025, all individual licensees can submit declarations including those reporting shortfalls; between Oct. 1 and Nov. 15, 2025, licensees who reported shortfalls can update and provide any necessary additional documentation.
Requirements for Appointing Principals
Appointing principals must report CPD compliance status of appointed individual licensees to HKIA by Oct. 31, 2025; must verify reported CPD compliance status.
Should advise individual licensees to amend reported status if necessary; declarations submitted directly by appointed licensees should be verified against internal records.
CPD Hours Requirements
Minimum number of CPD hours individual licensees must complete is 15 hours for assessment period 2024/2025; includes minimum of 3 CPD hours on topics counting as ethics or reg; travel agents licensed for restricted scope only need to earn 3 hours.
Effectiveness
Deadline for individual licensees to complete CPD hours is Jul. 31, 2025; deadline for individual licensees to submit CPD Declarations, Sep. 30, 2025; additionally, the deadline for appointing principals to report compliance status is Oct. 31, 2025.
