  • On Apr. 28, 2025, UK Treasury, UK OFSI added general license INT/2025/6160920.
  • Also added a publication notice to accompany the legal services general license.
  • Permits a UK legal firm or UK counsel who has provided legal advice to a person designated under Russia or Belarus regime to receive payment from that person without an OFSI specific license, provided the terms of the general license are met.

  • The main changes are professional legal fees and expenses caps have been reset.

  • Legal services license issued under reg 64 of Russia (sanctions) (EU exit) regulations 2019 and Reg 32 of Republic of Belarus (sanctions) (EU exit) regulations 2019.
  • Took effect following expiry of general license INT/2024/4671884 on Oct. 28, 2024.
