MA Dept. of Revenue issued notice of public hearing on proposed regulation re motor vehicle insurer annual information returns, which adds Section 8.2 in MA INS 830-62C.
Proposed Regulation
Motor vehicle insurers who make a payment to a motor vehicle repair shop for service or repair should file an annual information return and send a copy to the repair shop.
Such information returns must report payments made to motor vehicle repair shops.
Should include data re motor vehicle repair shop and amounts for sales and use tax.
Data return requirement under MA INS 830-62C.8.2 is effective from payments made by motor vehicle insurers to motor vehicle repair shops on or after Jan. 1, 2025.
Hearing Details
Hearing will be held on Apr. 30, 2025, and persons who intend to testify should notify the Department of Revenue by Apr. 29, 2025, written testimony due by Apr. 30, 2025.
