Thai CB announced the schedule for emergency plan testing and other payment and bond system testing for 2025, and published sample report form for test participation.
Overview of System Testing
The Currency and Payment Systems Department has established a testing schedule to ensure systems can operate continuously with minimal impact to users and per regs.
Aims to verify that systems can operate continuously in emergency situations and minimize impact on service users; testing will involve various emergency scenarios such as equipment/system failure, main site unavailability, personnel unavailability.
Test Schedule
Enhanced testing of BCP BAHTNET web portal for BAHTNET service institutions on Mar. 15, 2025; annual emergency plan (BCP) testing for BAHTNET, e-bidding, and bond switching service institutions on Jun. 7; next exercise takes place on Sep. 10, 2025.
Specifically, a tabletop exercise for understanding operational procedures in case a systemically important member of system enters rehabilitation/bankruptcy proceeding.
Industry wide test for BAHTNET Refresh project for all service institutions in Q3 2025.
Reporting and Documentation
Sample report form is included for institutions to document their test participation, test scenarios, and results; report form captures data about institution, including main and backup operational sites, network connections, established recovery time objectives.
Institutions must report whether they have backup capabilities for data to enable resending transactions in case of emergency; details of each test will be communicated closer to the scheduled dates, all institutions are required to participate in the testing.
