Bill Provisions
Health plans that provide perinatal mental health benefits shall provide coverage for voluntary inpatient treatment for a patient who has a perinatal psychiatric diagnosis.
Inpatient admissions, overnight stays, and medications resulting from the treatments.
Including infusions and prescriptions, and counseling shall be covered the service plan.
Health insurance issuers shall not deny coverage for voluntary inpatient treatment for a patient with a perinatal psychiatric diagnosis that is consistent with these standards.
Coverage subject to annual deductibles, coinsurance, and copayment plan provisions.
Medicaid managed care organizations shall also provide the same inpatient coverage.
LOU Medicaid Program is not prohibited from establishing payment criteria for services.
