Available for counties of Atkinson, Baker, Banks, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Dawson, Decatur, and Dooly.

Public Assistance (Category B) emergency protective measures, limited to direct Federal assistance and reimbursement for mass care including evacuation and shelter.

On Oct. 2, 2024, SBA reported low-interest disaster loans available to businesses and residents in Georgia re disaster declaration for Hurricane Helene beginning Sep. 25.
Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2mn to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, assets.
Deadline for physical property damage loans is Nov. 29, 2024, EIDLs is Jun. 30, 2025.
On the same day, FEMA reported President Biden made additional disaster assistance available to GA to supplement recovery efforts in areas affected by Hurricane Helene.
The federal cost-share to be increased from seventy-five to one hundred percent for the first ninety days of the incident period, beginning Sep. 24, 2024, and continuing.
Oct. 2024 FEMA Unemployment Insurance
On Oct. 20, 2024, FEMA reported Georgians unemployed as a direct consequence of Tropical Storm Debby or Hurricane Helene may be eligible to receive assistance.
Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance provides benefits to people who are self-employed, farmers, diversified farming operators, loggers, commission-paid workers.
As well as other employees who are not eligible under the State's program.
