On Oct. 17, NC INS issued a data call on Hurricane Helene claims.
NC INS issued Bulletin 24-B-17,Hurricane Helene Data Call, applicable to all insurance companies writing property and casualty insurance coverage in North Carolina.
Aims to inform companies of data call resulting from Hurricane Helene claims.
Data Call Applicability
Data call applies to licensed property & casualty insurers, authorized surplus line insurers, NC Insurance Underwriting Association and North Carolina Joint Underwriting.
Applies to all such companies that had policies in force in NC on Sep. 26, 2024.
Only requires direct data, so if only provide reinsurance coverage, do not need comply.
Data Call Requirements
Instructions for responding to the data call are available at the NC INS website.
Response will consist of six reports, the first due Nov. 1, 2024, the last Sep. 26, 2025.
A template has been provided by NC INS for use in making each of the six reports.
Reporting Deadlines
1st report due Nov. 1, 2024; 2nd on Nov. 22nd, 2024; 3rd report due Dec. 20, 2024.
4th report on Jan. 17, 2025; 5th due on Apr. 11, 2025; 6th report due Sep. 26, 2025.
