On Oct. 21, GE Bundesbank detailed conversion statistical reporting.
GE Bundesbank issued Circular detailing upcoming changes to data exchange portal.
Announcement Overview
The ExtraNet is being replaced by NExt (New ExtraNet Concept), with all functions that are currently available in ExtraNet are also available in NExt, as part of development.
New functions are being provided that supplement previous functions or fundamentally expand function range, with all the individual services being developed in small steps.
All departments of GE Bundesbank will be gradually integrated in two-year conversion period from ExtraNet to NExt, so both systems will operate in parallel during this time.
As well as functions, NExt introduces new terms, so specialist procedure in ExtraNet is replaced by work area in NExt, for summarizing one or more related specialist topics.
In addition, the term specialist topic replaces the specialist procedure function, which will stand for the various roles and authorizations set out within the specialist area.
GE Bundesbank’s statistical surveys are bundled in NExt into two work areas External economic reporting and Financial statistics, which will be converted 2025-6, with the Foreign Economic Reporting work area expected now to be converted from mid-2025.
Each statistics procedure will inform users in advance of respective conversion dates.
The data exchange process will take place in same way as before until the conversion date for the respective statistics, however, after the conversion or the end of parallel operation, all the data exchange processes will then fully take place via NExt system.
A list of all specialist topics assigned to the work areas Foreign Economic Reporting and Financial Statistics have been provided in the appendix to the Circular, for information.
Details of specific requirements, including the role of the User Manager function is then provided in the remainder of the Circular, to provide users with additional information.
Effectiveness
The plans are NExt will go live from Oct. 31, 2024 within a few selected departments.
