EC consulted on draft implementing regulation laying down the technical specifications of data requirements and the deadlines for submission of annual metadata and quality reports for the topic ICT usage and e-commerce for the reference year 2026, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Purpose
Statistics on information and communication technologies (ICT) usage, e-commerce by businesses requires specific data sets to be collected to monitor the digital economy.
The draft will set out the technical specifications for collecting those data, so that the data collected by EU countries on ICT usage and e-commerce can be comparable.
The technical specifications will concern variables, measurement unit, statistical population, classifications and breakdowns, as well as data transmission deadline.

Comments can be submitted until May 7, 2025, at midnight Brussels time.
