  • Summary
  • The regulation is directly applicable in Denmark and regulates the use of artificial intelligence by dividing the use of artificial intelligence into risk areas.
  • AI is prohibited in EU if it poses a major risk to fundamental rights, safety, or health.
  • As part of the implementation, authorities in national legislation must be designated that are responsible for supervision of the prohibited forms of AI systems in Denmark.
  • The bill appoints DEN DIG, DEN DP and the Danish Court Administration as market surveillance authorities with the necessary supervisory competences.
  • DEN DIG is appointed as the authorizing authority and as central point of contact.
  • Effectiveness
  • The regulation enters into force in stages; part of the regulation that regulates the supervision of AI use in areas that are high-risk will enter into force by Aug. 2025.
  • Further legislation is expected as other parts of the AI Act enter into force.
