DEN PRL issued a bill which implements part of the regulation on artificial intelligence.
Summary
The regulation is directly applicable in Denmark and regulates the use of artificial intelligence by dividing the use of artificial intelligence into risk areas.
AI is prohibited in EU if it poses a major risk to fundamental rights, safety, or health.
As part of the implementation, authorities in national legislation must be designated that are responsible for supervision of the prohibited forms of AI systems in Denmark.
The bill appoints DEN DIG, DEN DP and the Danish Court Administration as market surveillance authorities with the necessary supervisory competences.
DEN DIG is appointed as the authorizing authority and as central point of contact.
Effectiveness
The regulation enters into force in stages; part of the regulation that regulates the supervision of AI use in areas that are high-risk will enter into force by Aug. 2025.
Further legislation is expected as other parts of the AI Act enter into force.
