BEL GVT issued Royal Decree implementing EU regulation 2022/868 on European data governance and amending EU regulation 2018/1724 as per gazette (OG 2024009520).
Changesmade by BEL GVT set out definitions, data mediation services, data altruism organizations, and details on penalty payments, as well as final provisions.
Changes in line with EU regulation 2022/868 include change under data altruism organizations, Art. 5. in accordance with Article 17(1) of EU Regulation 2022/868.
A public national register of recognized data altruism organizations shall be established, which may be consulted on the website of the FPS Economy.
Known as Federal Public Service Economy, SMEs, Self-employed and Energy economy.
Effectiveness
Royal Decree is effective as of Nov. 6, 2024.
