Bill Provisions
Enhances support for breastfeeding, improves health outcomes for mothers and infants
On and after Jan. 1, 2026, a health benefit plan in Arkansas shall provide coverage for breastfeeding and lactation consultant services in an outpatient setting to an enrollee.
Defines breastfeeding and lactation consultant as meaning a licensed International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).
Arkansas Medicaid will reimburse IBCLCs or CLCs if they have a Medicaid number.
