On Apr. 10, ESP DP consulted on its strategy for the next five years.
ESP DP launched public consultation on its draft 2025-2030 Strategic Plan.
Aims to establish priority lines of action for next 5 years, incorporates a series of objectives in form of guiding principles, 6 major strategic axes with different actions.
Consultation is key tool to enrich text with proposals, contributions and comments.
Once participatory process is complete, it will analyze feedback and prepare final plan.
Overview
Text is structured into 8 guiding principles and 6 lines of action, each outlining various actions to achieve established objectives, namely Intelligent monitoring, supported by technology, efficient management: to achieve greater proactive capacity to identify and prevent risks related to data protection, prioritizing the most impactful actions.
Technological innovation: commitment to responsible innovation e.g. Privacy and Technology Lab in close collaboration with leading centers, universities, EU authorities.
Cooperation and strategic influence: to strengthen alliances, cooperation at national and international levels and integrating data protection into key sectors.
Facilitate regulatory compliance: with focus on SMEs and role of privacy professionals.
Digital transformation and excellence: to optimize organization, provide better service.
Open and friendly agency with new tools and support channels, collaboration with professional sectors and active listening to anticipate emerging risks.

Enabled form on website for interested parties to make contributions for each axis.
Contributions are independent, so each participant can comment only on strategic axis that most affects them or seems most relevant, or on several of them simultaneously.

Objective of collaborative process is to ensure plan addresses growing challenges in privacy and data protection, promoting inclusive, transparent approach in formulation.
This will allow ESP DP to adapt its operations to new challenges, particularly in digital sphere, identify needs and areas for improvement in planning of its future activities.
Effectiveness
Public consultation open from until May 11, 2025, inclusive; once consultation period is over, ESP DP will analyze contributions received; final published version of 2025-2030 Strategic Plan expected Jul. 2025, serving as a fundamental guide for coming years.
