Investigation to determine the effects on the national security of imports of semiconductors and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and derivative products.
Includes semiconductor substrates and bare wafers, leading-edge chips, legacy chips, microelectronics, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment (SME) components.
Derivative products include downstream products that contain semiconductor.
The investigation initiated under Section 232 of Trade expansion act (19 USC 1862).

Feasibility of increasing domestic capacity to reduce import reliance, impact of current trade policy on domestic production, and whether additional measures are needed.
