Amends ILL LEG 820.115.2, which is entitled Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act.
Bill Provisions
An employer must maintain a copy of employee's paystub for a period of three years.
Employer to provide an employee with a copy of pay stubs upon employee's request.
Required employer to furnish copy of the pay stub within 21 calendar days of request.
Employer is not required to grant request more than twice in a 12-month period.
Not required to grant request for former employer if more than 1 year from separation.
Request made by employee/former employee must be made to person responsible for maintaining employer's payroll, including HR, supervisor or department manager.
Employer that fails to furnish stub as required may be fined up to $500 per violation.
