President declared major disaster exists in KNS and ordered federal assistance to supplement recovery efforts by State, tribal and local authorities in impacted areas.

Federal funding available to State, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofits on cost-sharing basis for emergency work, repair or replacement.
Aid is available in the counties of Chase, Clark, Comanche, Doniphan, Finney, Geary, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Kearny, Meade, Scott, Thomas, and Wabaunsee.
Federal funding available on cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation statewide.
Additionally, activated the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program statewide for actions taken to prevent or reduce long term risk to life and property from natural hazards.
Counties named in the declaration are Chase, Clark, Comanche, Doniphan, Finney, Geary, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Kearny, Meade, Scott, Thomas, and Wabaunsee.
SBA Disaster Aid to KNS Nonprofits
The SBA made federal disaster loans available to nonprofits in Kansas that provide essential services of a governmental nature for Jun. - Jul. storm damage.
SBA may lend private nonprofits up to $2mn to repair/replace damaged/destroyed real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory, business assets; more for future mitigation.
For certain private nonprofits, SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) to help with meeting working capital needs caused by the severe weather disaster.
EIDLs may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that cannot be paid by the victim of the weather event because of the disaster’s impact.
Deadline for property damage application is Nov. 25, 2024, for EIDLs Jun. 24, 2025.
