On Apr. 30, 2025, UKRN PRL announced that the president signed law 43620-IX on protection of interests of individuals in the sphere of intellectual property during martial law introduced in connection with the armed aggression of the Russia against Ukraine regarding the improvement of patent legislation.
Deadlines for actions and procedures related to acquiring and protecting IP rights, previously suspended during martial law, have now resumed in line with Ukrainian law.
In addition, annual fees for maintaining IP rights that were due during martial law are considered paid on time if settled within 75 days of this law's entry into force.
Additionally, the law outlines that the certificate renewal fees due during martial law are also deemed timely if paid within 75 days from this law’s effective date.
The bill enters into force on May 30, 2025 (30 days after official publication).
