NLD AFM said it will monitor compliance by financial companies with the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which applies to online consumer financial services and is designed to make products and services more accessible to people with disabilities.
Scope of EAA is broad, applying to most financial product and services providers and is based on 4 accessibility principles: operable; perceptible; understandable; robust.
Applies to websites, apps, other online applications, requires firms to make changes to ICT, and set up review processes to ensure that services are continuously accessible.
One of 5 designated supervisors NLD AFM expects firms to start applying legislative requirements as soon as possible, and share information on a dedicated webpage.
Expect financial companies to start applying the requirements as soon as possible.
Need organization-wide adjustments to make services to consumers easily accessible.
