The regular securities market will open at 10:00 instead of 9:00, the derivatives market at 9:45 instead of 8:45, and the closing time will be postponed by one hour.
However, some derivatives markets and general commodity markets will delay only opening hours by one hour or have no change in trading hours.
On Oct. 31, KRX announced a temporary change to trading hours.
KRX announced temporary changes in trading hours of stock, KOSDAQ, KONEX, derivatives, commodity markets on college scholastic ability test day, Nov. 14, 2024.
Overview of Temporary Changes
For stock, KOSDAQ, and KONEX markets, trading hours of the regular market (10:00-16:30) and the after-hours market before the opening will be delayed by one hour.
In addition, after-hours market after closing will open at 16:40 and close at 18:00.
For the derivatives market, market opening and closing hours will be postponed respectively by one hour for stocks and interest rate products, while only the market opening hour for currency and gold futures will be postponed by one hour.
However, there will be no change in trading hours for pork futures; opening time for the night market will be postponed by one hour while closing time remains unchanged.
For the gold market, trading will begin at 10:00, one hour later, and end at 15:30.
There will be no change in trading hours of the oil and emissions markets; for the KRX start-up market, the opening and closing times will be likewise postponed by one hour.
Effectiveness
The temporary changes in trading hours will be implemented on Nov. 14, 2024.
Nov. 2024 Opening Hours of Banks
On Nov. 12, 2024, SK KFB said that banks' opening hours would be changed to 10:00-17:00 on Nov. 14, 2024, the college scholastic ability test day, instead of 9:00-16:00.
However, for stores that operate their business hours flexibly depending on the locations or the characteristics of customers, checking with banks is recommended.
