On Sep. 25, NJ LEG issued notice of grants for for-profit job upskilling.
NJ LEG Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) informed of grants pilot program, Fund My Future (FMF), to provide financial assistance for job upskilling.
The FMF pilot follows a cost-reimbursement framework offering each grantee, for-profit or otherwise, up to $2.37 million (a planned $9,600 per grantee individual recipient).
The FMF notice of grant opportunity (NGO) includes criteria for grantee responsibilities, application submission checklist, evaluation criteria, required dashboards and reports.
New Jersey Fund My Future Job Upskilling Grants
Grant period for fiscal year FY 2025 commences Dec. 1, 2024 and ends Nov. 30, 2025.
Pilot FMF grants will be offered to for-profit entities and other organizations to directly pay providers for career coaching, development, and training services, other expenses.
Other expenses may include wraparound services such as childcare or transportation.
Grant funding is contingent on meeting performance metrics, expenditures stipulated.
With maximum funding given for each line item (3) - Administrative Costs at 10%, Participant Training/Support Services; Participant Career Services/Career Coaching.
Required to comply with NJ affirmative action and Americans with disabilities act (ADA) requirements, and to offer grants to minimum 120 recipients in listed target counties.
All coaching recipients of a grantee must fall within the guidelines set by ALICE (asset limited, income constrained, employed); will receive individualized employment plans.
FMF originated from Governor Murphy's Future of Work task force recommendations.
