NY LEG Governor Hochul reported applications are now open for income eligible homeowners to apply for emergency grants for Jul., Aug. New York extreme weather.
Eligibility
Homeowners from Chautauqua, Madison, Erie, Oneida, Essex, Saratoga, Lewis and Warren Counties may apply for repair grants for Jul. 10-16, 2024 severe weather.
Eligible homeowners from Allegany, Oswego, Delaware, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Steuben and Jefferson Counties may apply for Aug. 9-10 Debby remnants aid.
Finally, homeowners from Nassau and Suffolk Counties may apply for assistance via emergency repair grants issued for Aug. 18-19, 2024, severe weather events.
Funding up to $50,000 available on a first come first served basis may be used for emergency housing repairs necessary to make the home safe, sanitary and habitable.
Funds available to eligible homeowners for their primary residence where flood or insurance coverage or other forms of disaster recovery funds are not sufficient.
Grants available until funds exhausted; applications accepted until Oct. 7, 2024.
Oct. 2024 NY LEG Governor Extends Deadline
On Oct. 4, 2024, NY LEG Governor Hochul extended the application deadline for emergency repair grants for Jul. and Aug. extreme weather events to Nov. 8, 2024.
