Late Payments and Foreclosure
SWE FI notified EBA that it will comply with the EBA Guidelines, EBA/GL/2024/10, amending the Guidelines, EBA/GL/2015/12, on late payment and enforcement.
Guidelines aim to protect consumers by imposing requirements on creditors in the case of late payment and foreclosure, as per EBA's amended guidelines.
The overall requirements set out in the Directive and the guidelines remain unchanged.
Guidelines apply to financial institutions as defined in Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 1093/2010 that are creditors as defined in Article 4(2) of Directive 2014/17/EU.
Effectiveness
SWE FI state that EBA guidelines are applicable from Oct. 22, 2024.
