  • SWE FI notified EBA that it will comply with the EBA Guidelines, EBA/GL/2024/10, amending the Guidelines, EBA/GL/2015/12, on late payment and enforcement.
  • Guidelines aim to protect consumers by imposing requirements on creditors in the case of late payment and foreclosure, as per EBA's amended guidelines.
  • The overall requirements set out in the Directive and the guidelines remain unchanged.
  • Guidelines apply to financial institutions as defined in Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 1093/2010 that are creditors as defined in Article 4(2) of Directive 2014/17/EU.
  • Effectiveness
  • SWE FI state that EBA guidelines are applicable from Oct. 22, 2024.
