HKIA said it will start charging fees for insurance intermediary licensing applications from Sep. 23, 2024, after five-year waiver period; established on cost-recovery basis.
The fee imposition aims to support HKIA’s continued effectiveness in regulating the insurance industry, enhancing market stability, and protecting policyholders.
A new payment gateway has been introduced on e-portal to facilitate fee payments.
The cut-off for submission of applications and notifications via Insurance Intermediaries Connect (IIC) without fees will be at 12:00 noon on Sep. 20, 2024.
