On Jul. 26, SBA reported on disaster assistance due to NC drought.

  • SBA reported Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are available in NC for small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, aquaculture businesses, most private nonprofits.
  • Assistance available to help with economic losses due to drought that began on Jul. 9.
  • Eligibility
  • Declaration includes primary county of Columbus and the adjacent counties of Bladen, Brunswick, Pender and Robeson in North Carolina; Dillon and Horry in South Carolina.
  • Available to eligible farm-related and nonfarm-related entities that suffered financial losses as a direct result of this disaster, and nurseries for losses due to drought.
  • Disaster loans are not available for agricultural producers, farmers, and ranchers.
  • Loan amounts of up to $2mn, based on each applicant’s financial condition, and eligibility based on the size of the applicant, type of activity and its financial resources.
  • Loans to be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, other bills that could have been paid had disaster not occurred, should not be used to replace sales/profits.
  • Application Due Dates
  • Completed loan applications must be submitted to SBA no later than Mar. 17, 2025.
  • Jul. 30, 2024, SBA Extended Deadline, Added Counties
  • On Jul. 30, 2024, SBA reported that additional affected counties have been added.
  • The declaration includes the additional primary counties of Forsyth, Robeson, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin; and the adjacent counties of Alleghany, Bladen and Columbus.
  • As well as, Cumberland, Davidson, Davie, Guilford, Hoke, Iredell, Rockingham, Scotland, and Wilkes in North Carolina; Dillon, Horry and Marlboro in South Carolina.
  • Added the following counties in Virginia, Carroll, Grayson, Henry and Patrick.
  • Completed loan applications must be submitted to SBA no later than March 24, 2025.
