Outlined requirements set out by Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) for licensure.
Follows proposed to update licensing criteria for appraisal trainees, see #215472.
Proposed Amendments
Applicants who submit an application that is postmarked on or after Jan. 1, 2026, are required to meet the 2026 educational criteria; provided education hour standards.
Any trainee holding a valid trainee appraiser credential prior to Jan. 1, 2026, must in addition to all other requirements for licensure complete the 8-hour qualifying course.
The course topic is Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations.
Provided licensure criteria for State-licensed real estate apraiser, State certified residential real estate appraiser, and State certified general real estate appraiser.

Comments on proposed rulemaking must be submitted in 30 days, Jul. 17, 2024.
