  • Physical and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) eligible for Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne, and Wetzel counties.
  • Adjacent counties of Braxton, Brooke, Clay, Doddridge, Greenbrier, and Harrison.
  • Additionally, Jackson, Logan, Marion, Mason, Mingo, Monongalia, Raleigh, Roane, Summers, Tyler, Webster and Wyoming counties in WV are eligible for EIDL loans only.
  • Boyd, Lawrence, Martin counties in Kentucky; Jefferson, Belmont, Lawrence, Monroe, Gallia in Ohio; Greene and Washington in Pennsylvania are also eligible for EIDL loans.
  • Businesses and private nonprofit organizations of any size may borrow up to $2mn to repair or replace disaster-damaged/destroyed real estate, machinery and other assets.
  • Disaster loans up to $500k are available to homeowners to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, $100k for damaged/destroyed personal property.
  • Applicants may be eligible for a 20% loan amount increase for mitigation purposes.

  • Jun. 2024 FEMA Disaster Unemployment Aid
  • On Jun. 20, 2024, FEMA reported that Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) benefits are now available to West Virginia residents impacted by the Apr. 2-6 storms.
  • The assistance is available to those who live or work in Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel counties.
  • Available to individuals who are not eligible for regular State unemployment insurance and are self-employed, including farmers; the application deadline is Jul. 22, 2024.
  • Jul. 2024 FEMA WV Disaster Update
  • On Jul. 1, 2024, FEMA reported that over $4mn has been approved for homeowners and renters in West Virginia after the severe weather from Apr. 2-6, 2024.
  • Includes housing assistance to help homeowners and renters with temporary housing and home repairs, transportation, childcare and medical and dental costs.
