MCH LEG passed HB 4579 requiring reimbursement rate for telehealth visits be same as the reimbursement rate for in-office visits; bill amends MCH LEG 500.3476.
Bill Provisions
New, renewed policy may not require face to face contact; telemedicine must be provided by licensed , registered health care professional in the State where patient is.
If service is provided through telemedicine, insurer must provide at least the same coverage for service as if the service involved face-to-face contact between them.
The bill provides definitions for insurer and telemedicine for purposes of this section.
