  • SBA made available Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) available to Colorado small businesses impacted by economic losses due to drought beginning Nov. 1, 2023.
  • Eligibility
  • Primary COL counties: Alamosa, Archuleta, Conejos, Costilla, Hinsdale, Huerfano, La Plata, Mineral, Montezuma, Rio Grande, Saguache; neighboring Chaffee, Custer.
  • Also Dolores, Fremont, Gunnison, Las Animas, Ouray, Pueblo and San Juan.
  • Neighboring AZ county Apache; NM Colfax, Rio Arriba, San Juan, Taos; UTA San Juan.
  • Small nonfarm businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits may qualify for EIDLs up to $2 million.
  • Loans are intended to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met by the applicant had the disaster not occurred.
  • Eligibility based on the financial impact of disaster only, not on actual damage.
  • Deadline
  • Deadline for EIDL loan applications to be submitted to SBA is Nov. 25, 2024.
