GRE AADE announced Vending Machine Registry starts on Nov. 14, 2025, constituting the first step towards interconnection with cash systems.
Overview
GRE AADE established a Registry of Vending Machines, with the goal of ensuring the full registration and monitoring of all vending machines operating in the market.
Specifically, by virtue of Decision A.1143/2025 of AADE Governor, George Pitsilis, the content, method, and timing of the Vending Machine Declarations required for the creation and maintenance of the Registry are defined.
Vending Machines defined as all machines that sell and distribute products or provide services to consumers, automatically receiving payment without the presence of staff.
All businesses operating vending machines, whether owned/leased, required to declare them in Registry, regardless of whether located inside or outside business premises.
Machines operating with coins or tokens and offering entertainment or gambling services (such as arcade or gaming machines) are excluded from the Registry.
The creation and maintenance of the Registry is an essential step toward coordinating the installation of cash register systems in vending machines and connecting them with electronic payment systems, to ensure tax compliance within the sector.
Registration Particulars
Businesses subject to obligation must submit Declaration of Start/Change/Termination of Vending Machine Operation no later than 10th day of month following month in which start, change, termination of operation of each vending machine took place.
During initial implementation period from Nov. 14, to Dec. 12, businesses must submit Start of Operation Declarations for vending machines already operating at the time of publication of the relevant decision.
By Jan. 12, 2026, businesses must submit Declarations for the start, termination, or change of operation of vending machines that took place between the publication date of the decision and Nov. 30, 2025.
Submission of declarations begins on Nov. 14, 2025, either through an API interface or via the digital portal myAADE.
