On Jul. 31, COL INS proposed draft regulation on policy information.
COL INS proposed new draft Regulation 5-1-XX on requests for commercial, personal automobile policy information and requests for certified copies of homeowner policies.
Claimants or claimant’s attorneys may request commercial and personal automobile insurance policy limits, insurers shall establish process to respond within 30 days.
If Commissioner is the named registered agent, insurer shall provide to Commissioner an electronic mailing address to facilitate transfer of policy limits requests directly.
For compliance with COL INS 10-3-1117, insurers shall provide copy of commercial, personal automobile policy, which does not include declarations page or the application
Insurers shall retain the requests, responses, and proof of mailing or delivery of the automobile liability limits information for the current calendar year plus two prior years
To comply with COL INS 10-4-110.8(10), insurers shall provide certified copy of homeowner policy within 30 calendar days of receipt of the policyholder’s request.

Regulation shall apply to all insurers issuing commercial and personal automobile policies, as well as all insurers issuing homeowner insurance policies in Colorado.
