On Apr. 24, IND NPC issued circular to strengthen name verification.
IND NPC said UPI apps must only display ultimate beneficiary's name (CBS name), as fetched from validate address API, for P2P, P2PM transactions on pre-transaction page.
They must not display names extracted from QR codes/user-defined names/any other sources, must disable any features that allow users to modify the beneficiary name.
